About The Book
The book is a Maritime history of world-famous yachts which names all the crew members, nation-wide, who were known to JJ throughout his lifetime. It is a tribute to the memory of the Masters, Navigators and the sailor-men of England who made up the crewmembers of all famous yachts which were owned by equally famous ladies and gentlemen. For example: Sir Thomas Lipton, with his five famous 'Shamrocks'; Lord Dunraven, with his famous 'Valkyries'; Lord and Lady Fairhaven, USA Oil Tycoons, and their luxury yacht 'SY Sapphire II', great benefactors to Great Britain during second world war: And many others within the JJ Collection.
Not forgetting those two most famous of all the yachts: The Royal Racing Cutter 'Britannia' and the Racing Schooner 'Westward', of which JJ owns all old subject matter.
Every page holds its memories and contains many anecdotes, both moving and humorous. It makes compelling reading, particularly to those deeply interested in the history of yachting and seafaring.
